Questions to Ask Before Approving a Fused Silica Supplier

Approval of a fused silica supplier is the buyer's decision. A useful check is a short list of questions, answered in writing for a named grade, form and size. The answers do not, by themselves, qualify the supplier for your plant.

Which grade and which form

Ask which grade is offered, A Grade or B Grade, and which form: sand, grain or powder. A grade name without a form still leaves the order open. Buyers can ask to see the quality checks in writing.

Will a COA be supplied for the lot

Ask whether a COA will be supplied for the lot you are asked to approve. Compare it with your specification. Typical figures are for discussion. Read the lot analysis for the quoted lot.

Particle size and packing

Ask which particle size is offered, in millimetres or mesh, and which packing is included. Options that can be discussed are 25 kg bags, 25 kg bags on pallets, and jumbo bags of about 1000 kg or 1250 kg. Packing stated on one quotation does not apply to another quotation.

Trial quantity and deviations

Ask whether a sample, or a trial of 100-500 kg, can be discussed. That quantity is subject to the product and to shipping confirmation. Also ask how a deviation from the agreed specification would be handled before you approve the supplier. the company background is company background only. It does not mean the supplier is already qualified.

Shenzhen Zhixin New Materials Co., Ltd. can answer these questions for a stated grade, size and packing. The decision to approve the supplier stays with the buyer.
